I spent a good portion of the mornig wrestling with the trackback function of MoveableType. Central to the issue was whether or not people outside of the MT universe could make use of this nifty function. It seems that Web over at Webslog has found a possible solution to all of you non-MT bloggers out there. I am not sure if it works, but this entry will be the test.

Thanks for trying. I’d loaded the code into the appropriate places but didn’t see your ref pop up. Thinking/assuming there’s something I’m not doing right. WIll let you know when I get it tweaked. I took a look at the standalone utility you pointed me to and it looks to lack some of the ease of use that I would hope to find. It may be that installing MT’s standalone TB module is the fix, but then I’ve perpetuated the “non-MT users problem”. On another note, turns out the haloscan thing was easily fixable … the first snippet of script needed to be inserted in the pages for the links to work.
