Red Sky

Red sky over rice fields and mountains“Red sky at night, sailors delight…”

We will be getting up in a few hours to drive from West Nowhere to Tokyo, and hopefully this old saying will hold true. I do not look forward to driving all day, but give me some clear skies and all will be fine. We are going to stop off to visit some of my in-laws along the way, but we should be in Tokyo proper by Sunday afternoon. Why we chose August to go to Tokyo is beyond me. I cannot imagine a hotter place to be, but it will be nice to spend a few days in civilization to stock up on light bulbs, canned food, and shotgun shells. (And a half dozen of whatever they are sellin’ at the Apple store…)
See you there.

Hi Steve, Hope the drive was all right. It has been hot here in Tokyo.

I spoke to Tom the other day before he took off for Hokkaido. He said he’ll be around on Aug. 19th or 20th during the day to perhaps get together near his office for lunch. I’d prefer the 19th, but have to work from 4:00. The 20th would be free all day, into the evening. If you’re free, let me know. Would be nice to get all of us together.

    Enjoy Tokyo!
